She has been on the other side of the question.
One marathon. Three days' notice.
Dawn's interest in nutrition and human performance began in 2004, after she completed her first marathon on just three days' notice. What began as curiosity about endurance performance gradually became a much larger investigation into nutrition, recovery, supplementation, minerals, toxins, cellular energy, and why some bodies seem to adapt while others struggle.
Two decades later, she's still asking questions.
Dawn's work is informed by a life in endurance sport, ten years in the U.S. Army, and the frustration of feeling that training, nutrition, and conventional panels don't always tell the whole story. Her approach is to listen first, measure carefully, interpret relationships, support physiology, and measure again.
Raised on a farm in Iowa, with a practical respect for food, movement, and the way environments shape health. She still returns every October to help with the family farm's corn and soybean harvest.
Ten years in the U.S. Army in Satellite Communications, stationed in Washington D.C., Germany, and England. Recognized multiple times as Soldier of the Year at various command levels, and promoted to Staff Sergeant. That discipline and systems-based approach to problem-solving still shapes how she works with clients today.
Over 100 ultramarathons, multiple 100-mile races, Ironman triathlons, Spartan Ultra races, and approximately 100 Spartan races. Top female finisher in the 2015 Red Bull X-Alps, covering 300 miles on foot and 500 miles by paraglider over twelve days. Spartan Ultra World Championship Age Group Champion.
Lived in a small village on Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula, traveled to 43 countries, and spent a year circumnavigating the globe. These experiences reinforced her belief that there are many paths to health, but focus, effort, and adaptability are always required.
Look more deeply at the relationships.
Dawn founded VIGEO Health to help people look more deeply at the relationships between minerals, micronutrients, heavy metals, nutrition, performance, recovery, emotional health, and cellular energy. OligoScan is one of her primary tools, but VIGEO's approach is broader than a single test.
Observe. Measure. Interpret. Identify relationships. Support physiology. Measure again.
Dawn is particularly interested in situations where the pieces don't seem to fit neatly together—and in asking better questions when conventional answers haven't explained the whole picture.
Her work also explores the relationships between physical physiology and bioenergetic approaches, including Emotion Code, Body Code, and Belief Code, German New Medicine, muscle testing, frequency technologies, and Dr. Jerry Tennant's Healing Is Voltage work.
When she's not working with clients, writing the OligoScan book, or disappearing into another research rabbit hole, Dawn can usually be found running, hiking, traveling, playing piano, spending time with her husband Jim and cattle dog Spot, tending chickens, or returning to Iowa each fall to help with harvest.
She is also the author of Racing to the Sky, which chronicles her endurance racing and paragliding adventures.
