What does high copper on a mineral test mean?

Direct answer

A high copper reading doesn't automatically mean too much copper. Copper is one of the two minerals most often caught in a mineral blockade, showing up elevated alongside zinc during infection, inflammation, or an active detox response rather than reflecting true dietary excess. This isn't a fringe idea: about 95% of blood copper is carried by a protein called ceruloplasmin, which is a well-documented acute-phase reactant, meaning it rises predictably during inflammation for reasons that have nothing to do with intake. Before assuming excess, it's worth asking what else was happening in the body at the time of testing.
